My quilting journey began in 2019, a year that would forever change my relationship with fabric and creativity. It was during this time that I was introduced to the art of quilting by my beloved aunty, who patiently guided me through the foundational techniques. Her enthusiasm for quilting was infectious, and her guidance laid the groundwork for my new-found passion. After learning the basics, I turned to the vast world of online resources, particularly YouTube, where I immersed myself in countless tutorials. Each video opened up new techniques and styles, allowing me to expand my skills and explore my creativity. Here’s a more detailed overview of my quilting journey:

First Projects

  • My very first project was a charming baby quilt, a labor of love that was both exciting and nerve-wracking. I selected an easy pattern pattern and it turned out quite well.

  • Next, I created a quilt for my close friend's daughter. It involved stitching together a lot of small squares The quilt top came together beautifully, and I felt an immense sense of pride as I watched it transform from individual pieces into a cohesive work of art.

For these initial project, I sourced fabrics from the US, which offered a delightful variety of patterns and textures. The vibrant prints and quality materials inspired me to experiment with different combinations and designs.

Growing Passion

As I continued to hone my skills, I was pleasantly surprised by the positive feedback I received on my quilts. The response was overwhelmingly encouraging, and it wasn't long before I received my very first order from a friend who requested two baby quilts. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in my quilting journey. The excitement of working on commissioned pieces fueled my passion even further, and I found myself constantly motivated to improve and innovate. From that moment on, there was no looking back; I always had an order to work on, each project presenting unique challenges and opportunities for growth. My quilting journey has not only been about creating beautiful pieces but also about connecting with others and sharing the warmth that quilts can bring into people's lives.
